Kat is a Remedial Massage therapist currently studying Myotherapy at RMIT University.
She completed Sports Development and Events Management at Holmesglen Tafe in 2017 and ran programs for primary schools to motivate young children to be involved in sport.
She loves being involved in the sports industry whether she is playing or working with elite teams behind the scenes. She has worked with South East Melbourne Phoenix Basketball team, Melbourne City Football Club and volunteered with her partner’s soccer team where she was asked to work at the National Championships with the Victorian Soccer teams for the VCFA.
Apart from the sports industry she also has a love for animals. She has been a foster carer since 2017 looking after injured and sick animals that need care before going up for adoption.
Working at Lifestyle Essentials Mitcham helps her to support, guide and treat clients who are suffering from chronic conditions, painful areas or who are just looking to improve their posture and increase their strength to reach their goals.
David Thornton is a qualified remedial massage therapist, completing studies at Holmesglen Institute, in a Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52015) in 2017. He is also a Level 2 AFL coach, Soccer coach, Level 4 Referee, AFL Emergency Response coordinator with 20 years of sporting experience in all.
He is passionate about natural health modalities and has learned massage technologies to further his understanding of treatments and management of soft tissue injury to assist him with his coaching positions working both with Melbourne Sports Institute and La Trobe University. He is also a professional member of Massage and Myotherapy Australia and spends some of his spare time in current research areas of treatment techniques to consistently provide the best possible treatment or relaxation programs for his clients.
